Runner-up is Final Fantasy VI's because when it *does* come to grandiosity, this is the one to aspire to.

The backing strings and lilting harp/music box accompaniments give the piece a beautifully euphoric sense of innocence.

It's one of the few variations that trades the pomp and circumstantial tone that the theme is best known for, for something much more tender and contemplative. Nobuo Uematsu's PHANTASMAGORIA - FINAL FANTASY (Vocals: Chinatsu Kuzuu)įor my part, I absolutely adore Final Fantasy V's rendition. Final Fantasy Vocal Collection - Pray (Vocals: Risa Ohki) FINAL FANTASY Record Keeper ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Vol.2 - 2nd Anniversary Medley FF Tribute ~Thanks~ - Opening Theme (also featured in Theatrhythm Curtain Call) Final Fantasy 1987-1994 - FFV Piano Version Final Fantasy XIV - (Opening Theme / A World Apart) Final Fantasy IV - (Prologue / Epilogue) Feel free to post your own faves - or, if any musicians among us have created their own versions, please share! So! What are your favorite renditions of the Final Fantasy Main Theme? I've listed all the mainline versions (sans remakes), as well as a choice selection of arrangements. Several FF themed spin-off titles also feature the theme, and there have been countless numbers of both official and fan-made arrangements. With a few exceptions, the theme has been featured in all the mainline Final Fantasy titles and remakes since 1987, generally bookending each game's beginning and/or ending.

Whether you know it as the "Opening Theme", "Prologue", "Final Fantasy Main Theme", or like me, just plain "FINAL FANTASY", the now iconic musical theme by legendary VGM composer Nobuo Uematsu is as much a part of the series' universe as chocobos, moogles and airships.
